TYME Capital takes action and inspires change, giving 67 minutes in Norwood Park for Nelson Mandela Day

Posted - 18 July 2016

Inspired by NORA's efforts, the Operations team from TYME Capital, a company based in Rosebank, took action to inspire change for Mandela Day on 18 July.

Residents of Norwood may have seen the army of folk, sporting white t-shirts and a gold and black logo, trawling the park and perimeter fences around lunch time, cleaning up. Armed with refuse bags and surgical gloves for safety, 67 minutes of action resulted in 60 bags of litter cleared from the park.

Thanks to TYME Capital for choosing our park. With your support, NORA can continue to clean up and restore our flagship park.

67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day - Norwood Park Kinttathon

 Posted - 16 July 2016

It's an inspiration when the actions we take in our public spaces results in the confidence to use them, this time for a great cause.

Kevin Friedman hosted a 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day Knittathon in Norwood Park, on Saturday.  Twenty three avid knitters brought chairs and blankets and got to work knitting.  Twenty blankets and about thirty scarves were donated.

The event was such a success, we're delighted it'll be considered for a regular event in the park.

Norwood Park's new flower bed

Posted 3 July 2016

We have re-planted a whole new flower bed at the eastern end of Norwood Park, opposite the Engen garage.

In the photos alongside, you can see our new gardener Austin, watering the new plants in. It was a bit of a challenge with nothing more than a watering can but we managed to get through them all.

These improvements are the small steps we're taking to making the park a place the community can use and enjoy once more. Your ongoing contributions will go a long way to helping NORA continue the work.

If you haven't paid your annual subs or want to make a donation to let us reach the whole of Norwood Park, please contribute to this valuable effort.

31 May 2016 - NORA employs a gardener for Norwood Park

Since April 2016, NORA has employed a gardener to tend to the eastern end of the park twice a week.

Under the guidance of  NORA's Marius Van Vuuren, our gardener has been working hard to keep the upper park clean and has even managed to start doing some landscaping work.
